My name is Kathy and I have been with the practice a long time. Over the years I have belonged to many organizations as my children have grown.
My constant is the Lawson Methodist Church, where over the years I have done almost every job in the church, but preach.
Working for Kanning Dental has somewhat defined part of who I am. I am “Kathy at Kanning Dental”. I really care about people and about our patients and their wants and needs.
I Love to read, quilt, and be with family. Grandchildren are wonderful, and I really enjoy them.
I was born and raised in Kansas City Missouri, where I attended college at UMKC Dental School. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene in the Spring of 2009. With my Missouri dental hygiene licensure and certification in local anesthetic and nitrous oxide administration, I have clinically practiced dental hygiene and volunteered with the state doing dental screenings in a variety of elementary schools.
I am so happy to be part of the Kanning Dental team. My daily goal is helping to fulfill our mission by educating and treating our patients in a comfortable, clean and cozy environment. My passion is patient education. I love to comprehensively answer questions our patients have, and give them the best understanding of those answers to lead them to optimal oral health.
In our down time, my husband and I love watching our 2 year old daughter grow, catching a baseball game and enjoying live music.
I was raised in Braymer Missouri and graduated from Maple Woods College in 2002. I then earned my Expanded Function Certificate from Concorde Career College Dental Program. I now live in Lawson Missouri where I have the pleasure of working for Kanning Dental since 2006!
Kanning Dental is not only my career but it is also my family. I enjoy being able to have the relationships with the patients and meeting their needs. My goal is to make every patient as comfortable and knowledgeable about their oral health and their appointments as possible.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband Travis and my four children doing anything outdoors- hunting, grilling with friends and family, shooting bows, or taking in a movie.
I was born and raised in a small town called Wheeling, MO. I attended North Central MO College to obtain my prerequisite courses, where I then transferred to the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in May of 2014. I actively participate in the American Dental Hygienists Association as well the the Missouri level Association.
I was first attracted to Kanning Dental because of the small town atmosphere but have quickly learned that we are much more than that. I most enjoy the interactions with patients and helping them to reach their own personal oral health goals.
When I am not working, or driving, I enjoy spending my time outside by barrel racing, training horses, deer hunting, and spending time with my loved ones.
After graduating in October 2013 from Concorde Dental Hygiene school my passion to help my patients feel comfortable with pain free dentistry and provide quality care and education quickly grew. I enjoy being able to visit with each patient and helping my team succeed in making everyone feel at home. Being apart of Kanning Dental has helped me provide all of those things and more. Even though I am a fresh addition, only being blessed with the position in April 2015, I have settled right in with my new dental family.
When I find free time I like do things outdoors with my dog whether it be running, hiking, fishing, or taking a drive as long as I am under the sun I’m a happy girl.
I am an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and have been in the dental field since 2010 after graduation from an Accredited Dental Assisting school. I am happy to have found my “dental home” here at Kanning Dental. The amount of care, compassion and education this practice has to offer is what puts them far above the rest. I truly enjoy my patients and getting to know them on a personal level.
I enjoy football season especially watching the Minnesota Vikings. I can usually be found outside, baking or with a book in my hand. My everyday inspiration stems from my faith, my husband, Bryan and our three children, Bryant, Scarlette and Erickson.
