TEETH WHITENING

before and after

IN-OFFICE TEETH WHITENING

Just like people are born with different colors of skin and hair, we also are predisposed to different tooth colors. Combine our genetic tendencies with foods and habits that discolor our teeth like coffee, tea, berries, or tobacco, our teeth can continue to darken as we age. Kanning Dental provides teeth whitening as a cosmetic dentistry treatment at office locations in Lawson and Richmond, MO. Teeth whitening is one of the easiest and most economical ways to makeover your smile and gets a fresh new look that can often take years off of your overall appearance. Kanning Dental has two convenient office locations in Lawson and Richmond, MO to serve your cosmetic needs when it comes to the health and appearance of your smile. We offer both in-office and take-home teeth whitening treatment options to suit your needs and your budget.

We offer in-office teeth whitening treatment that can be completed in about an hour in either our Lawson or Richmond, MO dentist office. Results will be superior to over-the-counter options widely available today, providing a brighter and whiter smile that will last for a year or more with good oral hygiene. Our dentists can discuss expected results from teeth whitening based on the type of tooth stains you may have and your overall dental health.

TAKE-HOME TEETH WHITENING

For patients desiring to whiten their teeth at their convenience in the comfort of their home, Dr. Kanning offers a custom, professional take-home kit. Similar to our in-office treatment option, the professional take-home kit that we offer will provide superior results when compared to over-the-counter options. Your teeth will gradually become whiter and brighter

We will take impressions of your teeth in our Lawson dentist office to be used in creating custom-fit bleaching trays. These custom trays will ensure an even distribution of the bleaching agent and will minimize irritation of the gums.

TEETH WHITENING FAQS

  • How long will my teeth stay white after a treatment?

In-office and at-home teeth whitening methods use different ingredients and concentrations so the results will vary depending on which one you choose. Professional teeth whitening used under the supervision of a dentist will last longer and the results will be more superior compared to store-bought options. You can expect your results to last from six months to over a year with good oral hygiene.

  • Can professional teeth whitening remove all stains?

While professional teeth whitening is the best way to whiten teeth, it does have limitations. Unfortunately, there are some stains that cannot be removed with any type of whitening product. This includes internal tooth stains that happen for various reasons and affects the color of the tooth.

If this is the type of stain you have, we recommend whitening your teeth with other cosmetic treatments such as porcelain veneers, tooth bonding, or crowns. Most external tooth stains can be removed or improved with professional teeth whitening.

  • Is teeth whitening safe?

Professional teeth whitening is very safe to use for most patients especially when it is administered by a dentist. The only notable side effect is tooth sensitivity. There are no reports of professional teeth whitening causing structural damage or irreversible damage to teeth.
